Years in the making.
A diverse network of farmers, activists, nonprofits, and philanthropists built a shared understanding of Ohio’s agricultural capacity and food system gaps.
The farms were the intellectual force. They recognized a solution from their own startup experience— the CSA model, at institutional scale.
When federal funding ended in 2025, what remained was more durable than a program: decades of collective knowledge and relationships no funding cut could dissolve. Community Feed is built on both.

Metabolic disease driven by processed foods and the deficit in vitamins, minerals, and fiber found in fresh produce—may be Ohio's most lethal crisis, one that the focus on calories alone will never address.

Farming demands upfront investment of seed, soil, labor, and equipment months before any return—a gap that's especially hard to bridge for first-generation growers in volatile times, who rarely qualify for traditional bank loans.

The limit to this work is not supply or demand. The limit is: who will join farmers in the awareness that support harnessed today is an investment in our collective thriving tomorrow?

power grid.
Ohioans have kids to raise, food to grow, and life’s work to do.
